Big Girl

The weather is finally starting to feel like spring (somewhat consistently) here in Southern Indiana.  Navy loves being outside, so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors.  Navy asks everyday if she can go and play on "Navy's park" which is her play set in the backyard.

Navy and her cousins, Langston and Easton

We went to the zoo a few weeks back with Navy's friend, Jalal.    She really likes watching the otters swim and trying to catch the peacock.  Luckily she has never been successful----

I have no idea why she was doing this
Navy's talking is continuing to increase daily.  Her favorite question to ask Jonathan and me, several times an hour, is "What are you doing, Momma?" or "What are you doing, Dada?"  -----This must be her prepping us for the dreaded "Why?"

She also likes to verbally plan out her day, telling us where she is going, who she is going to see and she always ends it with who is going to be picking up her at the end of the day.  She likes to tell me that "Dada is at work" and in the mornings when I am getting ready for work she tells me "Go take a shower, Momma."  She still says words that are unintelligible, but for the most part I am able to understand most of what she says.

She also continues to want to "help" me in the kitchen or while cleaning around the house.  Her favorite thing to do is help me cook, though.  Except for her pouring garlic powder all over some fish I was making one evening, we haven't had too many mishaps.

I don't want to speak too soon and jinx us, but potty training seems to be going well.  We tried to start her back in January, but she wasn't very consistent.  She just didn't seem that interested.  We tried again several weeks later, and she did alright peeing, but would not poop on the potty---at all.  After multiple days of having to deal with that, we stopped pushing it and put her in a pull-up.  It was just really gross otherwise.  Occasionally she would tell us she had to go, and she would use the potty, but never consistently.  Then, the week before last, Navy went upstairs by herself, pulled her pants and underwear off, climbed on the potty (all by herself) and pooped on the potty.  Then we put her in underwear all the time during the day and never looked back!  She is very stubborn and I think she finally decided this is something that she wants to do and she has done it.  We are going on night five of a dry diaper in the morning when she wakes up, which is a pretty big deal for her, considering how much she drinks all day long.  I hope I have ordered my last case of size 7 diapers from Amazon.....

Navy is growing up so quickly.  She doesn't look like a baby anymore and tells us all the time "I not baby; I big girl."  And she really isn't a baby anymore-------
