Yummy-Yummy

I made some cookies last week and I thought they were pretty good.  I even got a request to make them again this weekend, so at least one other person liked them.

Where are all the animals, Mommy?

If it was hot outside, what would you choose to do?

Swimming? 
Sounds good, but I told Jonathan I wouldn't take Navy swimming for the first time without him. 

So, with the temperature in the 90's....

we went to the zoo! 

Navy and I met some friends and we had a really good time.  It was Navy's second trip to the zoo, and she seemed to be a little more aware of what was going on around her.  I don't know how many animals Navy actually saw, though.  I only took pictures of the ones that she could see from her stroller (and the ones that she saw when I was holding her because she was screaming, begging to get out of her stroller). 

  

We also saw Dora, who apparently was taking a break from exploring and decided to sit at Mesker Park Zoo for an entire afternoon.  Navy didn't really notice her, even though she likes watching her show.  I saw Diego for a second, but he was being escorted away by two zoo employees, and he looked like he was about to fall over.  Maybe it was because of the heat....

 

After an hour and a half, Navy was ready to leave.

Please, Mommy....I need air conditioning.

I love being outside!

She's on the move!

Well, before you get too excited, let me say that she isn't walking yet.  She started to "cruise" along the couch earlier this week.  She has to be enticed with a toy or something, otherwise she just stands there and smiles at you.  I love watching her try to figure out how to move her body to get to where she wants to go.  You can tell that her mind is working, trying to figure it out.  She is so determined and strong.  We love her so much and are so thankful that she is happy and healthy!  We enjoy spending time with her, teaching her new things and watching her learn things on her own.

Navy, 8 months and 8 days

8 months old already????

Navy was 8 months old on May 4th.  I can't believe that my little baby is only four months away from her 1st birthday!  She is growing and changing everyday.  She is starting to get tooth #5, which means that she has been waking up in the middle of the night again.  I wouldn't mind, except that she has been teething since she was four months old! I think we have only had one 3 week span since she turned four months old that we haven't had to get up in the middle of the night with her :( 

But, on a positive note, she is standing on her own really well, and has started trying to pull herself up from a sitting position.  She loves receiving praise and smiles so big when someone claps for her as well. 

I think we need to get outlet covers soon because I don't think our house will be safe much longer....
