Swimming

Jonathan and I were worried that Navy would be one of those kids who hated swimming, but I am happy to report that she is not.  She loved being in the pool, regardless of whether she was in her float or being held by one of us.  Thank goodness, because both Mommy and Daddy love spending hot summer days in the pool!
We did let Navy try a snow cone, and of course she loved it.

Wedding Weekend

My cousin Luke got married this weekend.
Best Wishes Luke and Emily!

Here are some pictures that we took in the park before the wedding....

One of my co-workers, Jennifer, made Navy
this flower to match her dress.  Thank you, Jennifer!
It looked perfect!

Navy can crawl!

Wednesday evening I was playing with Navy on the living room floor and I got up to get a drink.  I came back, but I sat a little farther away from her.  I do this regularly to see if she will try to crawl towards me.  Usually she gets up on her hands and knees, but she either goes backwards or gets frustrated and rolls towards me. But on Wednesday, she crawled to me!

She still doesn't really enjoy crawling, and she usually cries when she does it, but I am sure she will be following us everywhere we go very soon.

Yummy-Yummy

I made some cookies last week and I thought they were pretty good.  I even got a request to make them again this weekend, so at least one other person liked them.

Here's the link if you are interested...

Where are all the animals, Mommy?

If it was hot outside, what would you choose to do?

Swimming?
Sounds good, but I told Jonathan I wouldn't take Navy swimming for the first time without him.

So, with the temperature in the 90's....
we went to the zoo!

Navy and I met some friends and we had a really good time.  It was Navy's second trip to the zoo, and she seemed to be a little more aware of what was going on around her.  I don't know how many animals Navy actually saw, though.  I only took pictures of the ones that she could see from her stroller (and the ones that she saw when I was holding her because she was screaming, begging to get out of her stroller).

We also saw Dora, who apparently was taking a break from exploring and decided to sit at Mesker Park Zoo for an entire afternoon.  Navy didn't really notice her, even though she likes watching her show.  I saw Diego for a second, but he was being escorted away by two zoo employees, and he looked like he was about to fall over.  Maybe it was because of the heat....

After an hour and a half, Navy was ready to leave.
Please, Mommy....I need air conditioning.
