Brighton---11 months

Brighton was 11 months old on Monday!  He continues to be such a sweet and happy baby.  He has, however, become a "little stinker" the past couple of months.  If he shouldn't get into it, he is in it!  Right now, his favorite thing to get into is a drawer in our kitchen where I keep extra napkins.  Recently, when he opened the drawer, he got "stuck" and couldn't get out from underneath the drawer.

This month was the first month I had issues getting him to sit still and not EAT his monthly sticker!  We can usually distract him, but this month it didn't work.  Jonathan wasn't there, but I honestly don't think it would have made much of a difference.  I even gave him a candy bar to hold, hoping it would keep his hands away from the sticker, but it didn't really work.

He went through a growth spurt the past couple of weeks---He grew out of his shoes overnight, and he has completely grown out of his 6 month sleepers.  His cheeks are getting chubbier as well.  That may be due to the enormous amounts of food that he consumes.  He seems to never get full!  He cut another tooth this month--that makes three on top and two on the bottom.  A fourth tooth is getting close to making its appearance on top as well.

He is saying "Dada" and "Momma" although he says Dada more.  He loves to swing and seems to enjoy being outside more than he did a few months ago.  He likes being in the pool and doing anything as long as Navy is there with him.  She is really sweet with him now and "allows" him to play with her sometimes.  They like to have pretend picnics in the living room.  He loves being in her room and playing with all of her toys (or putting them in his mouth).

Earlier this week, Navy fell asleep in the recliner.  Brighton wasn't done playing with her, and he tried to wake her up by pulling her hair.  He was laughing as he did this, of course!

I see a lot of this kind of thing in our future :)

Bright---10 months

Brighton was 10 months old on June 13th!  He is crawling EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING.  He is much more curious and mischievous than Navy was.  He gets into things Navy never even noticed.

He continues to sleep through the night, takes good naps and is overall a happy baby.  He loves to eat.  If we are eating, he fully expects to eat as well and he wants to have what you are having.  Brighton has also started to throw fits when you take something away from him.  He will throw his head (and body if you are holding him) backwards and cry.  He loves his big sister a bunch.  He gets so excited when he sees her in the mornings after he wakes up.  He loves when she plays with him and especially loves it when she shares her toys with him.

Happenings

Memorial Day weekend we visited my dad in Bowling Green.  Navy was very excited to go see Grandpa Harry.  She was especially excited to help him make homemade ice cream!

Brighton did really well sleeping in a pack-n-play for the first time.  This is good considering he will be sleeping in one for a week while we are in California later this summer.

We went to a neat park while we were there.  It is called Aviation Heritage Park and they have several restored military planes.  Navy was especially excited to see her name on one of the planes ;)

Brighton has been busy this month.  He started pulling up, cruising on furniture and just yesterday he started to crawl forwards!  He was so proud of himself and Navy was super proud of him too!

Brighton also had his 9 month appointment last week.  He was in the 33rd percentile in weight but in the 2nd percentile in length.  He is also cutting one of his upper teeth, so the drool is pretty much non-stop.

I am going to finish up with some random pictures from the last couple of weeks.  Enjoy!

May

May has by far been our busiest month this year.  First of all, my baby girl finished out her last year of preschool.  In the fall she starts Pre-K and then after that.....Kindergarten!
All dressed up for her end of the year program

Navy's school had an end of the year picnic and we were all able to attend.  We love her preschool and all of the students and teachers!

Navy has learned a lot this year and I can't wait to see what new things she discovers next year.  She looks so much older than she did at the beginning of the year.

Navy had her first dance recital this month.  She enjoys her dance class and wasn't nervous at all to perform on stage.  We were so proud of her!

She also finished up her first soccer season.  Navy was the youngest person on her team.  It was her first year playing and she often stayed behind "the pack" but she improved a lot as the season progressed.  She even got to where she kicked the ball during the games on purpose ;).  The biggest thing for her was that she had fun and loved being part of a team.  She especially liked the medal she earned!

Our little Brightman turned 9 months old on the 13th.  He still hasn't mastered crawling, although he can scoot backwards and roll when he feels like it.   He loves to stand up though.  He can't pull up to get there, but once you put him there he likes to stay and play (or bang on) whatever he is holding on to.

He loves doing everything his sister does!

April 2015

Easter pics

Brighton turned 8 months old on April 13th.  He is such a happy, content little guy.  He continues to sleep around 10 hours through the night.  He loves to eat...anything and everything that you are eating!  He is not in a big hurry to get moving.  He likes to just sit and play.  Sometimes he will fall over onto his back and roll around, but most of the time he is content to stay where you put him.  He still only has two teeth, and no others seem to be coming in anytime soon.  He seems to be a little on the short side---still wearing some 3-6 month pants and shirts.

Navy started playing soccer this year.  It rained most of April, so a lot of her practices got cancelled.  She is the youngest on her team, and she is somewhat timid on the field, but she says she loves playing soccer.  Jonathan is the assistant coach for her team, so Daddy is nearby to cheer her on.  Our entire family has been great about coming out to watch her.  She is usually very shy after the game, but when we are in the car on the way home, she gets so excited when talking about who came to watch her play.
